Story Basket Three is a primary level reader developed for the Circle Program, an integrated ESL language arts program for Native students. The text contains three stories with illustrations by First Nations artists. The stories are adapted specifically for First Nations students. The stories include an adaptation of the traditional Cree legend about Wee-sa-kay-jac and Kitchi-Assin; a contemporary story about a young girl who travels by small plane to attend a family wedding in another First Nation's community, and a story about hunting moose. This collection shows Native people in positive situations and draws on the humour and values of traditional teachings. A Listen and Read book suggested for grade two.
