Wapos Bay: Journey Through Fear DVD features a stop-motion animation story about three Cree children in a remote Northern Saskatchewan community. This story follows the everyday adventures of ten-year-old T-Bear, 9-year-old Talon and 6-year-old Raven. Their friends, families, and Elders play significant roles in their adventures as the children engage in traditional activities such as fishing, gathering, and hunting. Their lives are also influenced by video games, TV and cell phones. Each DVD in the series is 24-minutes long and contains English and Cree language versions of the story. This episode focuses on overcoming fears that can disrupt children's and even an adult's life. T-Bear finds out that his fear of heights can have consequences during an Aboriginal Day celebration in his Cree community. When he climbs a fire watch tower on a dare his father arrives to assist. But even father has the same fear of heights. Meanwhile young Raven refuses to go fishing with her mother and grandmother. But the fear of water and heights is overcome through understanding and taking it one step at a time philosophy. This NFB Home Use Only DVD from GoodMinds.com is only available for sale in Canada.
